Who we are
Supervisors are increasingly recognizing the value of enhancing their business and risk assessment processes through the strategic use of technology and data. In response, technology companies have identified the market potential for these solutions, leading to the rise of Supervisory Technology (SupTech) and its counterpart, Regulatory Technology (RegTech) suppliers and solutions.
Over the course of ten years, Anthony Gavin has worked directly with a Middle Eastern supervisory authority in the field of SupTech, supporting the implementation of innovative SupTech solutions. This also included developing a comprehensive, end-to-end SupTech strategy for all supervisory functions at a leading G20 central bank and expanding it into a transformative Blueprint.
Anthony Gavin now offers independent consultancy services to supervisory bodies, technology firms, and standards-setting organizations, leveraging his deep expertise in supervision, the financial sector, and software solutions.
SupTech Maturity: SupTech is reaching a pivotal stage of maturity, where innovative technology has already demonstrated its value in enhancing supervisory processes, thanks to the efforts of tech companies and forward-thinking supervisors. However, the next step requires a more comprehensive and integrated approach to building Supervisory and Regulatory platforms for the future.
SupTech has the potential to significantly improve the efficiency and effectiveness of supervision, and it will continue to evolve. To realize its full potential, supervisors must move beyond the initial excitement of early success stories and focus on what is truly relevant to their business models, developing solution platforms that address these specific needs.
Why platforms? While innovation remains important, the key to long-term success lies in integrating solutions into the daily operations of supervision. The future of SupTech lies not in isolated innovation projects but in creating multi-functional, integrated platforms that support the full scope of supervisory work.
It’s time to shift from innovation experiments to lasting, comprehensive solutions.
